Amber Lee Hill

Stanton Woman Victim Of Foul Play

Amber Lee Hill

Friends and family worried when Amber Lee Hill vanished after she finished work at around 6am on January 9, 2007.  The 38-year-old had completed her overnight shift at a Coca-Cola bottling plant in the Los Angeles suburb of Downey.  Police found Hill’s 2001 Dodge Stratus, but the car had been untouched for a week.

Cops got their first clue when Hill’s wallet and other personal items were found by a hiker on a local hiking trail.  Ten days later, police, with the help of cadaver dogs, would find the woman’s badly decomposed body a mile away from her belongings.

Authorities were able to identify Amber Hill by way of fingerprints, but it seemed that animals had ravaged the woman’s body.  From the mid-abdomen down, she had been wrapped in a foam-like packaging material while her torso was still clothed in her Coca-Cola work clothes.  Unfortunately, many of the body parts that coroners use to determine cause of death had been eaten away.

Police say that Hill is currently considered a victim of foul play, but they have not named any persons of interest or suspects in the case.  Investigators report that blood was found in the trunk and on the bumper of Hill’s car.

In recent months, Amber Hill had filed for divorce from her husband, Robert, and custody of their 12-year-old daughter.  However, Robert Hill told police that the split had been amicable and that he and Amber had remained friends.   Police say that Amber Hill was also a witness in a sexual harassment complaint at her work, but investigators have yet to determine if that played a role in her disappearance.

Both Hill’s current boyfriend, Antonio King, and Robert Hill have called for justice and the public’s assistance in Amber’s murder. ..
